This program organizes upper primary students (Primary 4 to 6), referred to as "Big Hands," to mentor lower primary students (Primary 1 to 2), known as "Small Hands," during lunch breaks.
It aims to create a win-win outcome. The program not only promotes cross-grade interaction and communication but also cultivates a sense of responsibility and empathy among older students while helping younger students reinforce their foundational knowledge in various subjects.
In terms of specific outcomes, lower primary students can receive more individualized guidance, effectively boosting their learning confidence.
Meanwhile, upper primary students can revisit and reinforce their own knowledge during the mentoring process, further enhancing their leadership and communication skills.
More importantly, this cross-grade mutual assistance model helps to foster a warm and inclusive school culture of cooperation between teachers and students, allowing the spirit of care and growth to be naturally passed down through generations.
- Recruitment: At the beginning of the school year, upper primary students are recruited to become "Support U Ambassadors".
- Pairing: Each upper primary student is paired with 1–2 lower primary students, conducting mentoring sessions 1–2 times per week during lunch breaks.
- Review Content: The focus is on helping lower primary students with Chinese and English dictation, along with simple exercises provided by teachers or fun activities designed by the "Support U Ambassadors".
